The Emerald Valley Alpaca Association (EVAA) is a collection of farms and ranches located throughout Western Oregon. Members are from various backgrounds and have diverse goals, yet share a love of alpacas and the benefits associated with raising, breeding and selling these mild-mannered livestock.

We encourage you to visit our farms and ranches and talk with us about our alpacas. We invite you to join us and participate in our classes and events.

´╗┐On your way, explore western Oregon’s mountain lakes and beautiful beaches, offering fishing, hiking, river rafting, whale watching, wine tasting, and an endless array of scenic drives. Our parks and campgrounds are among the best in the country.

EVAA is an affiliate of the national Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association (AOBA), and our members raise only alpacas that are registered or that qualify for registration with the Alpaca Registry Inc. (ARI).

We are co-sponsors of the Alpaca Western Extravaganza. In recent years, EVAA has supported the Alpaca Research Foundation as they make strides in improving the health and vitality of North American alpacas, and the Alpaca Fiber Symposium, to further the American alpaca fiber market. And many members send fleece samples to the Yocom McColl testing labs after spring shearing, to monitor how well our breeding and health programs are doing. This includes herd management techniques documenting Expected Progeny Differences, to make the best breeding selections available, much like the cattle and horse industries do.
